Fame , Fate and the First Kiss| By Kasie West |Book Review| One of my favourite YA Contemporary’s of 2019|

This is Kasie West’s 11th book. And it makes me feel very proud to say that I have devoured each and every one of them. So 3-4 days back I was going through a phase of reading multiple books and not feeling drawn to any one of them . Then I felt why don’t I finally read the new Kasie West book ( cause it released a month back and I wasn’t able to pick it). I just finished it today and the best part is I still need more books by her . She has something really unique in her writing style . Its simple , swoony and there is always this underlining depth in it, you can just feel it seeping through the pages.

The story revolves around Lacey who is an actress filming her first film which would give her a big push into the Hollywood world. But at the same time it also means to stay with her dad instead of her mom , step father and step siblings , and also being 4 hours away from her school and best friends and all in all missing the fun of the senior year of high school. She is working in a zombie movie opposite one of the most famous actor of Hollywood who is Grant James . She slowly starts developing friendship with her co-stars Grant and Amanda. At the same time her dad doesn’t want her to forgo her studies , so he ends up appointing a tutor Donavan from her correspondence school ( he’s the main guy , isn’t the pairing just perfect cause its something in which the sparks would definitely fly).

It was a really enjoyable read an opposites attract romance arc . The girl is someone who oozes happiness , is always confident and has this bubbling personality and the main guy Donavan has been shown as a rule follower and averse to fun . So I personally felt that these characteristics about their personality are only true in the very beginning of the book cause I could feel them change as people. And I felt that something developed between them due to the tutoring sessions and non-tutoring sessions. Basically a kind of friendship developed between the two where they started sharing their feeling and insecurities with each other . Lacey was scared that her dad was overbearing and was waiting for something wrong to happen in her career ( though at the same time he did move to a new city for her ) and that her mom had started replacing her with a cat and younger siblings. And for Donavan it was his father still trying to chase his big Hollywood dream as a cameraman . I just felt that the author wanted to convey that we all have this scared part in us which feels replacable , not understood by our parents and even at times taken for granted.

Apart from this their is also a mystery part to the book. You can slowly slowly start understanding that their is someone trying to create mischief on the set which was indirectly putting Lacey in a bad eye. The best part was that the person who was doing it was the least imaginable . I didn’t even doubts that person once. And apart from all this their was a constant supply of swoony content with super adorable kisses , laughter and just heartfelt moments between the main two characters. And this books is a total RECOMMENDATION from my side . Cause no one does YA Contemporary Romance between than Kasie West.

This book is part of LOVE , LIFE AND THE LIST universe . A previous book written by Kasie West . Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who might have read it.
