It meant a lot to me to get this book to review. Mills & Boons is an institution which my mom has read , which I am reading and which I hope my daughters/nieces get to read to . And the best part is that these book have actually evolved . I have these old editions in which the girls used to be ready to give up everything for the guy and to have kids. But now the scenario has totally changed. And I am really happy that it has. I Just felt like pointing this out. Thank you Mills & Boons and HQ Stories for providing me with the review copy.
Now coming to the book isn’t the cover just perfect , it has given me so many feels. The book revolves around Luke and Olivia with opposites react and fake dating tropes being the major part of its plotline. So Olivia is considered as Gold Valley’s royalty and she has this fixed idea about what love means to her due to which she dates this guy who also belongs to a prominent family in their small town. You start realising slowly slowly that more than loving each other they were just told that they were supposed to love each other , or were meant for each other. So Olivia wants a proposal which this guy refuses to give which makes her break up . And which she ends up regretting .
Enters the main guy Luke who is a Cow Boy enters into the picture. The best part is that the book is from the POV( Point Of View) of both the characters and you relies that they both have this huge ball of sexual tension between . Now Luke works in the family farm of the guy Olivia supposedly feels she loves . So Olivia and Luke start fake dating with each other to make the ex jealous so that he actually comes forward and proposes Olivia.
This book is a whirlwind of amazing friendships , over flowing flawed human emotions and super hot sex scenes . Maisey Yates has surely been added to my list of books ofΒ authors to look forward to. So when the book finished I realised that it took the characters just 5-6 days to fall in love with each other . So I don’t believe in love at first sight but love in a few days is totally possible. The back story’s of the main characters was well written with Olivia having two overprotective parents because they couldn’t save her twin sister from her life choice of choosing the high of drugs . And Luke didn’t have a very stable childhood with a mom who loved him but had mental issues and ended up suiciding. So Luke feels that he is not good enough for Olivia and I really loved reading how the author dealt with this. Because if you feel this emotion when you are with someone its upon you to change it and not the other persons responsibility to carry the guilt with them
I really like how Olivia ends up maturing through the book realising her own dreams were more important than her parents and the plus point was that when her parents talk to her you realise that they just wanted her to be happy.Β The book is sex positive with really well crafted sex scenes ( and now I am just blushing). So both Olivia and Luke have this set of friends who are basically the people they work with and who are this amazing support system in their dilemma for them to confess their feelings.
All in all I loved reading the book. And would definitely be re reading my favourite parts in the future. And if you are thinking about picking something hot and steamy and contemporary then this one is totally worth it.
So in the paperback edition I received there was an additional 15 chapters story with the name SEDUCE ME , COWBOY which was surely a surprise for me. It revolves around the main girl who is tired being the Church Secretary of which her dad is the pastor. Its about her finally trying new things and off course there is a guy who helps her through this . ( Though on a personal note IΒ loved Smooth Talking Cowboy more . Its definitely one of the best Mills & Boons novel I have ever read )
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING

I have to admit that I don’t read too much romance, I am still finding new authors and books, but I do love Sarah Morgan, Jill Shalvis, and Katie McGarry. If you have any recommendations please do tell them.

I do like Sarah Morgan too. The way she writes about the feelings and emotions of the characters.

Hey there. Its always fun to come across Sally Thorne fans. I have heard about Unhoneymooners too. It has fake marriage plus hate to love ( so many good tropes). I am soooo excited for it . Eagerly waiting for the release date .
