I finished this book in straight 4 hours and damn it gave me amazing Christmas and swoon worthy vibes. This book has made me wonder why don’t I have a boyfriend. Basically this book is about Charlotte an amazing girl who also happens to be a geek and a time perfectionist. She has just been recently dumped and needs a boyfriend of her own standard(a perfectionist) to go with her to the party of the year thrown by one of her school friends. And hence she lands up upon Teo Ortez (isn’t the surname differently good) who as per her has all the winner qualities she wants in a boyfriend.
Throw in all of this a mix of Secret Santa , a guy who infuriates you , snow , Christmas celebrations , lots of yummy food , a best friend whos always by your side and you have got yourself a perfect read that would keep you wanting for more.
Charlotte ends up getting Teo for her Secret Santa ( not by default) , but has no idea what would impress him. And hence in all her desperation goes and asks J.D.Ortez who also happens to be Teo’s cousin , the guy who badly infuriate her by never being on time , and also the photographer of the school newspaper she heads with her best friend. J.D. ends up helping her and slowly and slowly the grow upon each other.
The main protagonists in this book who eventually become a couple , have a beautiful friendship developing between them throughout the chapters. And that’s what made me love the book. Their fights were hilarious and way more interesting than any game. J.D. is always there for her no matter what.
This book taught me that someone whos your boyfriend (or would be boyfriend) for him your feelings would matter immensely , he would never make you feel that you settled for anything less than you deserve. That the person would be there when you most want it , no questions asked. And that your best friends are maybe the best thing that can ever happen to you in your life so just never let them go.
I just felt that there could have been more to the ending , maybe just a few more pages. I felt as if I was eating the last spoon of my favourite ice cream with no more stock left at home.
So all in all this book was totally worth the wait . Especially I loved how Charlotte’s and JD’s relationship evolved from not being able to stand each other ,to being friends, to confessing their love/like for each other.
3/5
“And sometimes its the smaller , not-as-in-the-center-of-it-all, less obvious choice that’s the better one. The one that will surprise you “

This sounds so cute!! Definitely adding it to my TBR! I’m in need of a swoon-worthy read since I’m in a hangover after bingeing the K drama While You Were Sleeping π
