JMC , MERCATUS – DURJOY DATTA

So finally I got to hear a novelist whose books have meant more than a tick mark on the list of the books read in a year. The radiance and charisma from his words spoken on the stage was similar to how he enchants in the books. The way he tries to break through various topics with such an easy language. He definitely has a funny bone. Well the audience did enjoy his company JMC being an all-girls college. And thank you Mercatus- the marketing society of Jmc for getting him.! 🙂 

Something that touched me was when he said there’s always this friend we are deeply in love with but have no idea about. That was the same he felt at 24 for reading books. It was then that he actually realized he was in love with reading books. That after working at American Express at the end of the day he was missing reading, not writing. Because writing was a supplementary which came after reading.

He shared various small stories. How his parents had considered him to be a “good boy” but were shocked with the happenings in his life after reading his first book. Thinking ki ladka ab to haat se nikal gaya hai. How writing happened because he just felt that he had more happening in life than with anyone of his age, how the blogger community ended up persuading him to write a book.

In his ending note he beautifully said at the end of the day we have to find that thing that we love and want to come back home too. So it was an experience worth getting up at 8:00 am  !
